Everton announce increased Covid-19 checks for West Ham
Everton have announced increased matchday covid-19 spot-checks, ahead of their game against West Ham on Sunday.
The Blues return to Goodison Park after the international break, but Everton have advised supporters to be ready to provide proof of vaccination or a negative lateral flow test result on matchday.
In a statement, Everton confirm that the Premier League has given all its teams the authority to refuse entry if an individual cannot provide the relevant proof, though this is used at the club’s own discretion.
Fans over the age of 18 have been instructed that they should only attend the match if they have either a valid NHS covid pass; alternative proof of vaccination; or have registered a negative lateral flow test, within the last 48 hours.
Supporters aged between 12 and 17 should also be able to show proof of a negative lateral flow test, if asked to do so, with a full list of accepted evidence available on the club website.
If fans are exempt from vaccination, they will be allowed entry but are advised to register for a digital NHS COVID Pass medical exemption, which may be required from December.
The club say they are working on a system to prevent supporters from having to provide evidence each matchday but this may be experienced in the meantime, while fans are also encouraged to arrive earlier due to possible delays at the turnstiles.
