Liverpool are believed to be ‘leading the race’ to sign Olympiacos centre-back Pape Abou Cisse.
The Reds are at the forefront of the charge for the Senegal ace – a teammate of Sadio Mane at international level – ahead of Everton and Arsenal.
Cisse was the subject of a recent scouting mission from Anfield officials and impressed in a 3-0 Europa League victory over Fenerbahce.
The report states that Cisse has received ‘several inquiries’ but it is the Reds who have shown the ‘most intent’ in signing the four-times capped ace.

Signing a central defender in the prime of his career following the arrival of Ibrahima Konate would be a strange move from Jurgen Klopp.
The capture of the 22-year-old Frenchman – who is yet to feature prominently this season – has given the Reds unparalleled strength in depth in the defensive department.
Any further additions would surely have to follow a departure, something that doesn’t seem likely with any of Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Nat Phillips or Joel Matip.
Valued at £5.4million and under contract in Greece until 2024 (Transfermarkt), albeit a potential bargain deal, any move for the 6’4 defender may have to wait.
