This week is National Curry Week and from TripAdvisor reviews it seems as if one south Liverpool Indian restaurant is a mile above the rest when it comes to satisfying its customers.
Khaja Indian Takeaway in Woolton has been operating for more than 15 years now and has built a strong base of loyal customers who can’t get enough of their tasty food.
The family-run business spoils customers with a variety of curries ranging from Korma’s and Balti’s to Koria’s and Bhuna’s.
More recently, there have been multiple new dishes added as the Chef’s signature meals.
These include a Special Chicken Jhal Mitha which is strips of marinated tandoori chicken cooked with fine strips of green pepper, onion, fresh coriander in fresh herbs and spices, green chilli, special hot and sweet sauce and a Special Garlic Balti which is said to be ideal for garlic lovers as it comes as a medium blend of herbs and spices with a touch of Balti sauce and lots of roasted garlic.
Jay Miah, the 44-year-old manager from Sefton Park previously told the ECHO: “Our award-winning chef has 15 years experience having worked in some of the most prestigious Indian restaurants in the world.
“Khaja has become known as the finest Indian takeaway in Liverpool, our reputation built on the quality of our food, great customer service and the design of the takeaway itself.
“The open plan kitchen enables our customers to see our staff at work, whilst savouring the essences of the fresh spices, which are used in all of our recipes.
“All of our food is freshly prepared on our premises. All food is cooked to order, meaning that the flavours of all food is second to none.”
With 160 reviews and a rating of five stars on TripAdvisor, this gem is a must visit for foodies.
One past reviewer said: “Been here tens of times now and it still doesn’t disappoint. The food is absolutely fantastic, both the starters, mains and all the sides. Nothing has ever disappointed.”
While another, who recommended the butter chicken, added: “The staff are great and will also be flexible if you ever have any special requirements. For example, putting changing the curry sauce and/or adding things to the curry.”
A third review read: “Tried Khaja for the first time. The food was amazing. Had a look at a previous review with a customer moaning about oil in the food.
“Not sure what meal he had, but I can guarantee there was no oil issue in my Chicken Tikka Masala, or in my girlfriends Special Garlic Balti.
“From now on this will be my new regular Indian.”
Another said: “Everything is always on point from here. You can tell extra care goes into prepping your meal, it’s terrific.
“Never had a bad meal from Khaja. It’s consistently good. Plenty to choose from but I’m always drawn to the biriyani.”
With such good review’s it’s hardly surprising the venue was awarded the prestigious Good Food Award for Takeaways last year.
