Ullett Road in Aigburth, Liverpool, remains closed this morning whilst police look into the cause of a serious road traffic collision at 9.45pm on Saturday.
A Seat Ibiza was in collision with a pedestrian at the junction with Aigburth Road but investigations are ongoing to establish exactly what happened.
The driver of the Seat stopped at the scene and is assisting police.
Ullet Road has been closed at the junction with Aigburth Road up to the Esso garage further up Ullet Road.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: “Officers and paramedics from North West Ambulance Service are currently in attendance at a serious RTC in Aigburth involving a car and a pedestrian.

“Diversions have been put in place and motorists are being advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.”
“We realise that this will cause disruption and would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding whilst investigations are carried out.”
